I've been where you're at, maybe not the exact situation but I've been there.
It's rough! It hurts! It stinks! You feel like punching something. Anything!
There's an ache deep within .. like you can't go on unless you have a dip in your mouth. You feel a dip will make things better. It'll reduce your stress and make life easier. It's become a daily ritual that's been screwed up by this freakin' site! Why do you even need this place? C'mon - just get a can and everything will seem better. Just one dip to ride you through! You've shown that you're strong enough to quit. It's just a dip not like you'll be addicted from one dip. Trust me!
Have you thought this? I bet it's safe to say you have. I know I have! But why?

I have been on hiatus lately. My goal this year was to make a meaningful post here in the café once a month…where at least 1 person would walk away with something positive to add to their arsenal of tools to start or maintain their quit. I was away on an anniversary getaway trip to Hawaii for 2 weeks. Being from the east coast, Hawaii offered everything that I love about nature…and offered it with in miles of itself rather than day trips from each other. The ocean and beaches, to mountains and cliffs, to challenging hiking trails, waterfalls and even rainforests which we don’t have back east, were with in steps of each other. The diversity of the land out there makes me think of the diversity of this site. The diversity of quitters we have to the diversity of quitting styles and techniques and advice that is shared amongst each other here on the site. The trip and visit was utterly amazing. It allowed me the opportunity over 2 weeks to get back to my roots of being 1 with nature versus getting the momentary day or weekend to hike, ride the mountain trails, or bum it on the beach. My eyes were reopened to a life I had once lived and had abruptly ended when I traded it for my addiction to tobacco.

If you would humor me, I would like to tell you a story that illustrates why I believe this site works so well…and why I get so frustrated when people refuse to use the resources here and throw their quits away.
I played college football. Each year, at the beginning of the season—the night we reported for three-a-days—we had a fitness test. This test was specifically designed to ensure that players were at the maximum fitness level required for their position. The test was a "twelve minute run"—and the distance one had to cover on the track was determined by weight and position (smaller skilled positions had to run a greater distance in twelve minutes than lineman).
In short, the test was designed in such a way that it pushed most everyone to their physical limits. It leveled the playing field, so to speak. For once, the skinny guys didn't have it any easier than the fat guys. All of us had to endure that hell.
And it was hell, let me assure you.

I think I know how you feel. You quit and you're waiting for it to get better. You're waiting for a day—one specific day—when the pain of it all will be over. You're waiting for that one day that you have determined in your mind that it will be easier. That one day when the craves will disappear. When the fog will lift. When you'll stop being irritable. When you start being productive at work. When you stop being short with your wife and kids. That one day…you're just waiting…

The founders of this site and the 100's or maybe 1000's of veteran members have come up with a successful formula for quitting tobacco. I believe it's as good as a cake recipe, but you have to have all the ingredients or the cake will taste like shit.
I believe the ingredients include -
1. The Philosophy - We quit one day at a time here. Period! Subscribe to this and make your life easier. All you have to do is somehow get through today without using tobacco. No matter what!
